Summary of Tiger Hills Class 11 By Ved Prakash Malik
Tiger Hills is a real life story of Kargil War which was happened in 1999. Tiger Hill is highest mountain in Kargil of Ladakh, India. General Ved Prakash Malik was the Army Chief during the time of Kargil War.
The story of Tiger Hills begins with Brigadier MPS Bajwa who was a commander of Indian Army. He allot a mission of capturing Tiger Hill to his soldiers. He allotted his soldiers to capture Tiger Hill from Pakistani Soldiers. Pakistani Soldiers has a control of Tiger Hill, so Brigadier MPS Bajwa team will go there, kill Pakistani and take control of Tiger Hill from them.
To capture Tiger Hill, Brigadier Bajwa appoints 18 Grenadiers and 8 Sikh soldiers. On June, 1999, Brigadier Bajwa’s 18 Grenadiers make routes to attack the enemy on Tiger Hill and they are going to attack on them from muti-directions.
During the day of fight, 120 field, medium guns and 122mm multibarrelled Grad rocket were used by Indian soldiers. The Air Forces were also used during the attack who attacked on them between 2-3 July. Tiger hill is 22 Hundred meter from West to East and 1000 meter from North to South.
On 3 July at 7:00 pm, when weather was very bad and it was dark all around, 18 Grenadiers attack on hill from multidirections. The next day on 4th July at 4:00 am in morning, Sachin Nimbalker and Balwant Singh climbs Tiger Hill without telling anyone and captures their enemies.
M.P.S Bajwa and Mohinder Puri ordered 8 Sikh Soldiers to capture Helmet and India Gate which is on Tiger Hill. Major Ravindra Singh and Rk Sherawat led the Army of Sikhs and captured India Gate successfully by brutally defeating their enemies.. On the other side, an Army of 8 Sikhs captured Helmet.
The story now jumps to author, General Ved Prakash Malik who was in New Delhi. During the day of fight in Tiger Hills i.e 3rd July, author was very anxious. The next day, Krishan Pal, GOC 15 Corps, goes to General Ved Prakash at 6 am in morning and inform him that 18 Grenadiers has captured Tiger Hill Top and fight is still going on.
After consulting with Krishan Pal and Nirmal Chandar Vij, author decided to wait for the confirmation from GOC 8 Mountain Division. And at 7:30 am in morning, Mohinder Puri confirmed author that Pakistani Army can’t remove 18 Granidiers from Tiger Hill top. Afterwards, author informed Brajesh Mishra, who was National Security Advisor of P.M, Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
On 8 July, when Tiger Hill was successfully captured, 18 Grenadiers hoisted Indian Flag on a Top of Tiger Hill.
