The poem explain human beings emotions and struggles through a simple worm. In the poem, poet recollect an occurrence in which once he found worm on land in a season of monsoon.
The story of poem begins with poet who one day saw a small worm on land after a heavy rain. He was crawling on land with full on determination and mighty strength. After rain, when everything was looking clear and peaceful, worm was taking himself to a dryer place. I felt it it strange when I saw that worm is moving straight without any interruption.
The poet is thinking how worm is going straight while poet himself is going through a complicated path in his own life. He is really inspired by the simplicity of worm. The poet ask himself a question, is there anywhere a worm blinder than I have been ?
The poet is stuck in his life with complicated questions and doubts. On the other hand, there is a little worm on land whose path is simple and straight and moving forward without any hesitation. The poet needed the same direction and simplicity in his life like worm has.
Afterwards, poet suddenly killed little worm in anger. After killing worm, poet feels that he can’t adopt worm’s straight path and simplicity in his life.
The wisdom which god has given to Worm through which he would understand that how powerful is the anger of human. Through the simple worm, poet has explored a deep emotions and life lessons of life.
