The story of poem starts with poet who is in a journey of pilgrimage along with people. The poet says during the first stage of our pilgrimage journey we were completely devoted towards it. We were very excited and passionate for this pilgrimage. Every challenge we face in starting seems easy to us.
The poet says during the second stage we explored, we learn and faced every challenges with full on energy. We faced many problems but none of it stand before our enthusiasm.
The poet says whatever problem we faced, we stood towards it very well. We were losing our focus and wasting our time on useless things though but we also went to places where sage have taught us. The poet says we know that sage was teaching but we doesn’t know what it was teaching because we were distracted on useless things at that time. We were losing our focus and did not note matter of work.
As we go ahead on pilgrimage, we came across a desert where the people of our group gave different – different solutions on how to cross the desert. When people have different thought on same thing, then differences happen. We had one differences in our group where we loses one of our good.
That friend who loses his life during differences was very intelligent and good person. After that incident our fight started growing. Our journey new phase has started where we are attacking each other and lost the purpose of our journey. We forget our purpose, goal and journey. We forgot why we started this pilgrimage journey.We are now wasting our time and energy on this useless things only.
A section from our group is leaving the group in the name of freedom as this section believe their thoughts are different and they want to be free from this group. The poet says seeing everyone go, he get very disappointed. The author says he can only pray about it cannot do anything about it. The leader of our group said that our destination is not far anymore, we are near to our destination. The people are leaving us though but still we are going forward.
The poet says as we moved forward on this journey, we realized that we haven’t note down anything knowledgeable. We have wasted all of our time on useless things. When we started this journey we were very excited, but at this stage we have no energy, purpose and excitement.
As we have lost our purpose, that’s why we are wandering here and there. We are now tired and broken. When we finally reaches our pilgrimage destination we doesn’t know why we started this journey. This drip had darkened and corrupt our soul.
We have not done any great work which can make people remember us. We have not done anything rare. At last poet realized, that home is the only place where we can live peacefully. Therefore, we should make our home beautiful. If we make our home peaceful then everything in our life will become good.
