Synopsis of Gitanjali By Rabindranath Tagore
“Thou Has Made me Endless”
In poem author tells us about two things which is God is a Master who has given us this life and can take it whenever he wants to. We are like a flute to god to which they sing on their wish.
The story of poem begins with poet who says to god that you have made me endless, I will never end and always exist in this world. I’m endless in this world because of your pleasure. My body which is fragile, you made it empty again and again and filled it again with new life. Through this process I’m endless in the world.
The poet says the little flute of bamboo is my body so you have taken it to the hills and mountains and you blow it like musician through which my body release a melody. You are a magical musician who play flute with human’s body and give birth with a fresh life. As your immortal hands touches my body, my little heart loses its physical limits and it tells things which were difficult to tell for me.
Through your immortal touch, my heart get so happy that it says those things which he should not say. These beautiful gift of yours come to me only on little hands of mine. Therefore, I cannot take your infinite gifts with my small hands as your gifts never ends.
A lot of time has passed and you are still giving me your infinite gifts. Your gifts are not ended yet. I still have a room to keep your beautiful gifts so you must keep giving me gifts even though my hands are very small to hold it.
The poem is very beautiful as it is like a prayer which tells how our life is completely depend upon god. Our death and rebirth are in god’s hand and what kind of happiness we receive in life is also depend on god.
