Summary of The Blind Boy Poem By Colley Cibber

The story of poem begins with blind boy who is asking, what is this thing called light. The boy is blind and have not seen light in his life, therefore he is asking about light. What is this thing called light which I haven’t enjoyed in my life. Seeing a sight is a blessing for all the people in the world who has eyes. In the first stanza of poem, blind boy ask readers about the light as he haven’t seen it in his life.

You guys talk about wondrous things you see in daylight, you say the sun shine bright but I feel him warm and how can he make the day or night. I can feel the sun but can’t see it because I’m blind. When it make day or night I could not see him but I can feel him.

The blind boy says, I make my day and night by myself. Whenever I play It becomes day for me and whenever I sleep it becomes night for me. And with it I always have day with me.

With great sadness, I hear you moaning my luckless woe. I am bearing a loss which I never seen. I haven’t seen light so I don’t know what kind of loss is it. Leave it what I does not have because if I keep thinking about what I doesn’t have then I would not be able to enjoy my life. Although, I am a blind boy but I am a King in my own world.
