Summary of My Vision for India By APJ Abdul Kalam

In the beginning of speech, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam says that he has three visions for India. The three visions for India are Freedom, Development and standing up to the world.

The first vision is Freedom. Dr Kalam says that in the history of India from 3000 years, the people from all over the other countries in the world came to our India, they captured our lands and controlled our minds. From Alexander to Greeks, Mughals, Portuguese, French, Dutch, German and many other people came to our country, they captured our lands and tried to take away our history and culture from us.

But we never did the same thing with other countries. We Indians never tried to capture anybody’s land and take away their culture and History from them. We did not do that because we respect the freedom of others. So my first vision for my India is Freedom. I believe India got its first vision in 1857 when our first war of Independence happened. So we should protect our Freedom because unless we will be free nobody is gonna respect us.

Thereafter, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam says that my second vision for India is Development. He says our growth is 10 percent in many areas, our poverty level is falling, our achievements are getting recognized in all over the world but still we don’t have that much self-confidence to say our country a developed nation.

Therefore, my second vision is Development. From last 50 years, we are a developing nation, we were developing but now the time has come to call our country a developed nation. Because in terms of GDP we are among top five nations in the world.

Then APJ Abdul Kalam says that my third vision for India is that India stand up to the world and stands with the world. Because I believe if India does not stand up with the world then no one will respect us. It is because strength respects strength and likewise powerful country respect powerful country.

When we will become powerful, then only other country will help us and if we support other country then they will support us in our hard time. Therefore, India should become strong not just in military power but in economy power as well. We have to become powerful in both Military Power and Economic power.

Dr. APJ Kalam says I was very lucky that I get a chance to work with three great minds of India. First person is Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, of Department of space, second is Satish Dhawan, and third is Dr. Brahm Prakash, who is father of Nuclear Material. I was lucky that I get to work with three great minds of India. And this is the biggest opportunity of my life.

When I was in Hyderabad and giving this speech, a 14 years old girl came to me to take my autograph, I asked her what’s your goal in life ? She told me that she wants to live in developed India. For her and all of us, you have to make India a developed nation.

Afterwards, he says to the people that you say that our government doesn’t work properly, our laws are very old, our municipality doesn’t pick garbage on time, our phones are very bad, our airlines are world worst airlines, you just keep saying bad things about your country but what do you do to make your country better ?

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam tells J.F Kennedy’s words to Indians. I want you to relate with the words which J.F Kennedy said to his country people. Ask what we can do for our motherland, India, and do what needs to be done for India so that India can become like America and other western countries.
